Harmonious World

Harmonious World #46 Joe Lovano

Hilary Robertson Season 4 Episode 46

Another of my heroes allowed me to interview him. This time it's sax player Joe Lovano.

Joe tells tales about playing in London, with some true legends of the international jazz world. We could have gone on for hours and there's a false ending, followed by more insights into his new album - Garden of Expression  - which features pianist Marilyn Crispell and Carmen Castaldi on drums. No bass player. It's a beautiful sound and the track West of the Moon  which closes this podcast is ethereal and spellbinding.

Many thanks to Joe for allowing me to feature clips from Garden of Expression  alongside our conversation.

Don't forget the Quincy Jones quote that sums up why I do this: "Imagine what a harmonious world it would be if every single person, both young and old, shared a little of what he is good at doing."
